Figures, data, facts – and an exciting appearance from the world of politics
On 25 June 2025, the shareholders’ meeting of Kombiverkehr KG took place – this time at the Delta Hotel by Marriott in Offenbach. This year’s event was once again full of exciting topics, as in addition to the 2024 financial results, Chairman of the Board Ulrich Maixner and the two managing directors Armin Riedl and Heiko Krebs spoke about the demands on transport policy, the successful traction conversion, the current challenges facing the infrastructure, the affiliated companies and current digitisation projects.
Johannes Wieczorek, the new head of the policy department at the Federal Ministry of Transport, joined the event via video link. In his live contribution, he emphasised the high priority given to combined transport by the ministry and announced plans to strengthen the competitiveness of rail freight transport. In the subsequent open question and answer session, he addressed the concerns of the company’s limited partners. Four members of the Administrative Board – Ueli Maurer, Sonja Stich, Michael Schaaf and Georg Dettendorfer – took the opportunity to address the high costs of track access charges and storage costs at terminals. These costs are not incurred by the freight forwarders themselves, but are a consequence of train delays due to renovation measures on the rail network. They called for a reversal of the trend in terms of cost burdens and the implementation of the CT Directive at national and European level.
