An exciting project for climate-friendly rail freight transport is currently being planned in Hamm (Westphalia). What was once Germany’s largest marshalling yard will in future become a multimodal rail logistics hub with innovative loading technology linking rail, road and waterways. On a 60-hectare site, DB Cargo is working with the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the city of Hamm, the railway and transport union (EVG) Hamm-Bielefeld and Kombiverkehr to develop a multi-hub for sustainable freight transport.
