And again news about our Moratara transports: Since the timetable change in mid-December 2021, we have been offering rail transport with profile P400 on the connection between Mortara and the Greenport terminal in Venlo and between Mortara and Rotterdam CTT. And there will soon be eight departures per week and direction to the North Sea port of Ghent.
“Thanks to the higher loading capacity, our customers increase the efficiency of their intermodal shipments”.

Transports with a corner height of 4 metres
With the train path conversion to the P400 profile, we now enable freight forwarders to transport semi-trailers with a corner height of four metres. “Thanks to the higher loading capacity, the efficiency of our customers’ intermodal consignments on these routes increases noticeably,” says Andrea de Ambrogi, who is responsible for Benlux transports at Kombiverkehr. Three times a week, the Mortara – Venlo v.v. direct train runs in both directions on the shipping days Monday, Wednesday and Friday. From and to Rotterdam, there is the option of transport by environmentally friendly rail five times a week from Monday to Friday.
Additional departures to and from Ghent
The frequency on the heavily used train connection to the North Sea port of Ghent will be increased. The first increase to seven departures will take place on 17 January 2021. Shortly afterwards, on 7 February, the eighth departure per week and direction will be added to the timetable. This will offer even more diverse shipping options on this transalpine corridor. “The continuing ferry connections from Ghent make the multimodal offer particularly interesting for forwarders with transport business with the United Kingdom after Brexit,” says Andrea de Ambrogi.
